Heather's Baby Shower

4am
Just had to post that Mr. Caleb got up at 4am this morning. J came back home after work around that time and Caleb had already been up flip flopping around and laying his head on my arm (which would be cute if it weren't for the fact that it was 4am!)....and then when I got up to go to work at 6am, he was up, walking and talking....poor Daddy....he just came off night shift and Caleb wants to play. Hopefully, he tired himself out and they can both get some shuteye before J enjoys his day off today.

First Daddy's Shoes...Now Daddy's Socks
We were folding laundry, just Caleb and I and we came across Daddy's socks....he immediately wanted to put them on and then didn't want to take them off! He just thought that it was the coolest thing....

Moooorr Miiii?
It's getting to by corporate busy tax season so I'm here to apologize in advance for any slacking in my updates. Our workpapers are almost complete and we're gearing up to file the federal return and all the state and city returns. I have 73 returns to prepare in total between now and mid-November all of which have varying due dates....so it's very likely that there will be weeks where I'll have forgotten that I have a blog to update. (sorry 'shell)
The good thing is that I've realized that I really like doing what I'm doing here (so far). Unlike PwC where I was constantly working on different things from month to month, year to year....I'm on a much more predictable work load here. I know that the appeal of working in a public accounting firm is for the fast pace change and varying projects that one gets to work on and therefore being able to expose oneself to different aspects of tax etc., but I'm just a very boring person. Things are still exciting since we take on different projects but the basic workload doesn't change overmuch.
Caleb is now saying "more milk?"....which actually sounds like "moor miii?"....and then he proceeds to wave his bottle around until we fill it up. (Yes, he's still on the bottle....) He also says "Goo Boy?" which translates to "Good Boy!" which is what we say to him whenever he accomplishes a task all by himself.
He also still LOVES to dance! As soon as he hears music (any kind), he'll stand still and then start bounding up and down. His new thing is bopping his head until he loses his balance which is funny. He also loves to go around in circles (slowly) until he gets dizzy and then attempts to walk a straight line which is hilarious to watch.
Now, when he eats something he likes, he looks at you very seriously and nods his head up and down while he's chewing....and I say "good?" and he'll say "mmmmmmhhhhnmmm".....

Funny Relationship Advice
I heard this from my co-worker and just had to share it....this is a peice of relationship advice that she heard from somebody else....
"You have to be their (your significant other's) personal 'ra-ra' girl because if you don't, then some other cheerleader is going to cartwheel in and shake her little poms-poms at him and then he'll be scoring a field goal somewhere else".

Once Again in Daddy's Shoes

Misc. Updates
I know that I've been bad at updating my blog this month....somehow time is just slipping away from me and I can't believe that it's almost August! 
House update....the contracter still hasn't finished yet due to having problems finding the exact siding color. When I called to see when they were coming out next since I hadn't heard from them in about a week, they told me that they were having problems finding my siding....to which I then gave them the color and vendor name that was listed on the back of my cupboards which the builder had so nicely listed for me. I wish that they had called me earlier.
Caleb update.....this age is so much fun! He's laughing and giggling all the time now (even at things that aren't really funny but then when we hear his sweet little giggle, it just tears us up) and he's getting really smart at figuring out how things work. He knows his 'ears, nose, teeth, head, feet, and eyes' and we're working on pointing at something and having him get it for us. He is just the sweetest thing out there. His attachment to me has also grown; probably due to the fact that Daddy's been on nightshift for a couple of months. We did just spend the weekend together since he had requested it originally to fly back home to Texas but then our plans fell through.
And here is Caleb just hamming it up for the camera.

18-Month Doctor's Appointment
Just a quick note to say that we just got back from Caleb's 18-month doctor's appointment and we are now in the clear for weight watching! He's now in the 25% percentile for weight and a solid 75% percentile for height. He's growing normally and all of his developmental skills are right on par with his age.
I must say that he handled his shot like a big boy. Other than crying a split section after the needle poke, he was fine afterwards....now the only thing we need to do is wean him off the bottle....which apparently is OUR fault that he's still on it and not his.

The Girlz!!!
The Girlz!!!! Michelle, Sheef & Shauna....I really wanted to post a picture of Jenn too but the only pictures I have of her on that night were really blurry....so I'll have to post it later when she sends me her copies...I only got to see them once when I was in Vancouver and I was soooo tired that night that I could barely keep my eyes open.
I miss those girlz!!! When we were hanging out together, it was like we had travelled back in time 6 years....it felt like nothing had changed but so much has. We've gotten married, had kids, moved, and are new homeowners. On paper, we should be grown up, but we still feel like we're 21! :)

Caleb in the Garden part two
This is the first year where I've been able to start a small vegetable / herb garden. Here are the cherry tomatoes and jalepeno peppers which were my 'mystery plants' which I had started from seed and then promptly forget which on was which. They have turned out amazingly fruitful and I can't wait to be able to harvest!
I also have an abundance in herb. Oregano, Basil, Chocolate Mint, Pineapple Sage and Thyme with which I can dry and use year round. A co-worker has also given me three zuchinni plants and though it's late in the season to start something new, it will be interesting to see what happens with those since my cucumber plant has dozens of flowers and a promise of fruit in the upcoming days.
