Museum of Life and Science

These aren't the best quality but they're pics that Jay took when we went to the Museum of Life and Science the day before Caleb's birthday party. He loved it there!

I promise that I'll post pics of Caleb's birthday party (from last weekend) by the end of the week. It's been crazy busy for me lately.

Santa Photo

Caleb's Christmas photo with Santa. He didn't want to go up there on Santa's lap and he definately didn't want to talk to Santa to tell him what he wanted. All we managed was this blank looking face as he sat there.

Transformer

On Saturday, GrandUncle Teddy came for a 1/2 day visit. We went to the Durham Museum of Life and Science for bioMerieux's annual children's xmas brunch with Santa. Afterwards, we went to Walmart where Caleb picked out the Bumblebee Transformer and a "Cars" chair. He loved this transformer so much that he wouldn't take his eyes off of it and even took a nap with it pressed right up next to his face. I've never seen him like anything so much. He carries it around everywhere he goes now.

Indoor Trike

Now that it's gotten a bit chilly here in NC, we brought Caleb's trike indoors. He's likes to pedal/scoot himself around the downstairs collecting toys in his basket. Anything to get him to help clean up :D

Caleb the Goof

Caleb's such a goof. The pic on top is him falling asleep on the couch....er....half on the couch half off...and the second is of him wanting Daddy to take a picture with him and the punch bowl on his head.

30th Birthday!

Heather, Kristen, Jay & my sister threw me a 30th Birthday party at my house. They had all the food done, decorated the house and organized all the guests. It made my day so special. I wish my sister was there but she was there in spirit.
I'm hoping that my 30s will bring a maturity that I've been seeking. That I will be able to be comfortable in my own skin and be thankful for everything that I have.

Me and Caleb

Just Caleb and I goofing around. He loves to see himself on the picture phone.

Max & Caleb

Here's one of the rare moments when Max lets Caleb sit right up next to him. Usually they're chasing each other like two crazy people.

Milk

Just a pic to show how Caleb still LOVES his milk....he won't eat much (other than plain white rice, chicken nuggets, fruit snacks and doritos) but he loves his milk.
ps. That's Stan in the background. Kristen was taking the pic :)

Haircut!

Below would be the before picture....before we went to get all of Caleb's hair cut off. The barber shop was full and there was a collective sigh when the barber took the first cut. He now looks like a different kid....Jay didn't want to cut it. He said we did it because it was my birthday weekend and since I wanted it cut, we cut it.

Posing

Caleb has taken a liking to getting onto the end of the bed and leaping off and giggling his little head off....we tried to get a picture of him doing it but as soon as we whip out our handy dandy picture phones, he averts this eyes and gets this look on his face....like he's posing....or trying to look au natural in the picture....
On his leg there is a roll of tape. Don't ask us why he has it on his leg.
And yes,....his hair....about that. Jay wants to grow it so that it can be braided....I'm voting for cutting it short but Jay thinks that the short hair makes him look older than he is. I'll say this, he's had a growth spurt within the last week and he's has seemingly just shot up in height. Weight, not so much.

Caleb the Wizard

On Friday, we had originally intended to go trick or treating at Crabtree Valley Mall....our plans changed when Jay got sick and the doctor told him that he had a flu-like stomach virus and shouldn't be at work for 7 days. We figured that pretty much meant that he should be quarantined so we decided to join in on the neighborhood festivities. We handed out candy (that's me in my last minute costume....waitress) and rung all the neighbors houses for candy. Caleb would take one peice and when the neighbors would offer another one (since most kids were taking handfuls), he'd shake his head and indicate that he only wanted on peice. He even gave candy back when they didn't pass his inspection.

YAY!!!

I forgot the most important news of all yesterday!!! So...Jay and I were sitting there watching a movie and Caleb wanders into the downstairs bathroom. Jay (out of curiosity) strolls in and was told by Caleb to "go outside!"....so Jay sits back down to watch the movie....after a few minutes (a few QUIET minutes) it was my turn to stroll into the bathroom to see what was going on....and I stand there not comprehending the sight....I saw a diaper....and what's in the potty!!!???? YAAAAAAAYYYYYY.....he peepee'ed in the potty!!!! This was the first time! It reaffirms my belief that he KNOWS what the potty is for and he KNOWS what he's supposed to do...he just chooses not to. Because not even an hour later, he stinks in his diaper. grrrrr.

Well, it's a start I suppose. I was so happy yesterday!

Caleb the Monster....

We went to TK's Jungle for Julius' birthday and Caleb's terrible twos came out....he threw a fit when the lady wanted to put a wristband on him....threw another fit when she realized that she had put on the wrong color and needed to put on another one....cried and didn't want to go into any of the 'bouncy' rooms....didn't want to eat anything...(except for the chips that I had to pay extra for)....didn't want to sit and drink his juice with all the other kids...didn't want to be near the other kids....didn't want cake....didn't want to take his shoes off and THEN didn't want to put his shoes back on....(SIGH)....

I thought that I had gotten off easy with the terrible twos....turns out he just hadn't released the monster yet. Parents were coming up to me and patting me on the shoulder saying "don't worry, it'll get better"...and I'm thinking "When did I become the sympathy mom???!!!! The mom that people feel sorry for since their toddlers are acting CRAZY!!???"....

At the end of the day, Caleb comes to me to cuddle and asks me to sit beside him to watch his WowWowWubbzy....and when he puts his little head next to mine, I breathe....and hug his little monster butt right back....
