The Swingset

We've been on the market for a swingset for awhile and these thing are so expensive! BUT!....I lucked out one day while on craigslist....found somebody wanting to get rid of theirs for $100....and even lent us a trailer to haul it back to our house!.....now Caleb's favourite thing is being pushed on the swing and going up and down the slide.....

Labor Day Swimming

So we went swimming at Kristen & Stan's pool on labor day Monday....we figured probably the last day that we'd be able to get out and into the pool before the fall. Funny thing....we ran out of swim diapers so I just had him in a pullup....and then we were wondering why he didn't really want to be in the pool....turns out the pullup was secreting some sort of gel and it was making him uncomfortable....and we didn't realize until (what seemed like) hours later.

Anyways...it was funny to us....perhaps not to Caleb.

A Typical Day

Here's a typical day at the Sennet household. Caleb still loves drinking his milk and likes for his sippy cup to be filled with ice-cold milk. Right when we get home, I change out of my work clothes and we settle down on the couch and have some quiet milk drinking time. Behind me would be the stacks of laundry typical of the workweek.....

At the Park

Caleb loves to go to the park....there's one just a few minutes away....although it's still hot out there so I usually can only manage about an hour before I'm asking him whether we can go home or not. His favourite part is still the swings....he insists on getting 'blue' on the swings and giving him a push before I put him in his own and he just giggles away when he's swinging....it's so sweet.

I see a Monster

Caleb's favourite book right now is about Monsters.

"I see a Monster hairy and red....Where is he hiding?"...and he'll say "Under the Bed!" (which IS the next line in the book...he's practically got it memorized) He knows all the answers to each of the different pages.

And end of the book, it has a little mirror and he growls into it like he's a little monster....it's so cute!

We've also started a reward chart. Stickers for 1) Cleaning Up 2) Reading a Book 3) Potty 1 and 4) Potty 2....there are lots of stickers in the first two categories...and none for the last two....no potty action yet.

Durham Bulls game

Last Friday, we went to the Durham Bulls game (vs Richmond Braves) for a bioMerieux sponsered event. Caleb had a blast seeing people and eating ballpark food. The game was packed full of people and for $8/ticket (regular price) the cost of going really depends on the food you consume on premises. The food was surprisingly yummy....we had philly cheesesteak, fully loaded nachos, an icee, cotton candy, hotdogs, popcorn....yeah, we loaded up.
Maybe when Forrest and Michelle get here next week, we'll have to go to a game...

Joe calls in sick...

So.....one of my co-workers (Joe) had a big birthday this past weekend. He was kind've bummed yesterday since his dept. forgot and he didn't get his cake and card.....so Lukey went and decorated his cubicle overnight and wrapped it like a huge present....I brought in my gooey butter cake.....Faye brought in chips and assorted snacks....his department ordered cupcakes for today....and then....

Joe calls in sick.

So.....we divvied up the cake (between our depts) and took a picture to send him to let him know what he missed. :P

Family Portraits

When my mom and sister were here, we went to JC Penny to take some family photos since we were a bit overdue for ours anyways. They turned out so great that I think we will be doing this every time they come down.

The only person missing is my Dad....:( Maybe next time he'll be able to visit too.

Rattler's Football Game

A couple of us went to watch Lukey play last weekend. He plays for the Rattlers (http://www.trianglerattlers.net) and Caleb had a ball watching the game...er...the cheerleaders...he was just so mesmerized by their 'dancing'....(and I put that in quotations on purpose) :)

He also is in awe of Lisa....here he is with his hand on her leg....;) I don't know who taught him that. Definately not me!

Carowinds (part two)

Carowinds (part 1)

We (Jay, Caleb, Lisa and Toon) all went to Carowinds 2 weeks ago after my Mom and sister went back to Vancouver. Caleb had a BLAST. He was able to ride on the rides and he just fell in love with Lisa. He keeps pointing at the group picture (that Toon bought) and says "See Lisa! See Lisa!"...

Thanks to Toon we got the discounted rate and while we weren't able to ride any of the 'big kid rides', it was fun (minus the sunburn that I was left with on my back). Lisa even took Caleb on the lazy river. We also all got a chance to meet Toon's sister and her family..

Caleb got his face painted as "green monster"...kind of like a 'mini-hulk' and Toon got him that ridicously big Diego doll that Caleb insisted be taken with him on some rides. Toon also won toys for all kids present (which is quite a feat since there was 6 kids in total). Remind us to tell the story of Toon shooting hoops at Carowinds for a laugh ;) ...although to give him credit, Lisa says that they went back the next day and he did much better the fourth time 'round. :)

Highlights from my Sister's & Mom's Visit to NC

Sandwich

I thought this was the cutest thing. Caleb got the bread, asked for the peanut butter to be opened, and then proceeded to start making himself a sandwich. He's only 2 1/2!!! At least I know that he won't starve if I accidentedly forget to feed him. :)

Working Caleb

So....I've been sick for 3 weeks now and today is the first day that I feel like I'm on the mend. Went to the doctor's with a fever and bronchitis....and then to top it all off, Caleb has been sick too. Ear infection, throat infection, Bronchitis and fever. It's lovely. On top of that Jay's been having a tooth ach problem as a result of some shoddy work that the previous dentist has done and he has been on painkillers too until it goes away (yes, he's already seen a dentist about it, that's where he got the painkillers).

This pic was taken when Caleb was at my work for the family day. I think it's so cute that he's sitting at my desk pretending to work. :)

So...short answer is yes, we're all on the mend. We went to Carowinds last weekend and Caleb had a ball. I need to get the pictures from Lisa so that I can post them.
